Obituary of Edith Mary Gelbke

Edith M. Gelbke passed away on March 28, 2014 in the comfort of her home in La Crescenta CA. She was born December 11, 1929, the first of two daughters. Her sister Ruby was seven years younger; both lived with their mother and grandmother in Alabama. At fifteen she met Charles and got married at sixteen. They moved to California in the early 1950’s where they had their only son Greg in 1954. She was a homemaker and worked part time at Sears for over 35 years. She enjoyed going to Laughlin and Friday night dinners with her Sears group. She enjoyed a happy marriage with Charles for over sixty seven years. She is survived by her husband Charles, son Greg, granddaughter Jessica and adopted grandson Lucas. Services will be held at Crippen Mortuary 2900 Honolulu Avenue La Crescenta, CA. 91214 on Thursday April 3, 2014. Visitation starting at 10:00 am and service at 11:00 am.
