Obituary of John Henry Lafko

John Lafko, or to his friends (Laughing Jack) was born on July 5th, 1947 in Manchester Connecticut. He joined the Navy July 13, 1965 after high school and was stationed in San Diego and Iceland during his time of service. He stayed in the Navy until his honorable discharge on July 11, 1969, and he finished with the rank of STG2. After the Navy Jack landed a job with the LAPD, and he went on to work there for 30 years. Jack loved his job, and the friends he made there. He was a Medal Of Valor recipient and was promoted to Sergeant, his job was his everything. Jack had a love for animals like no one has ever seen, even making sure the wild birds and rabbits were fed on a daily basis along with the family dogs and cats. He had a true love for cruising, especially to the Caribbean and his friends and family meant the world to him. He is survived by his wife Carin Lafko, his daughter Tanya, his step children Dillon, Tyler, and Tomi and his brother Paul. He was loved by many and he will be missed. End of Watch 2/3/15
