Leonard Joseph "Lenny" Scaletta Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Leonard "Lenny"

J. Scaletta, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend. Lenny, known for his

warm heart, strong work ethic, and adventurous spirit, passed away in July

of 2025 at the age of 82.

Lenny was a proud member of Hollywood Teamsters Local 399 and the

Screen Actors Guild, retiring after a fulfilling career in the entertainment

industry. In 1973, Lenny made his mark in film history when he starred as

"Jimmy the Mook" in Martin Scorsese's iconic film Mean Streets. Beyond

his work in the industry, Lenny found immense joy in his passions for

arboriculture, recreational firearms, music, and the tranquility of life in the

mountains.

Lenny's love for nature and the outdoors was matched only by his devotion

to his family. He cherished the time spent with his sons, Antonio and Phillip,

and his grandson, Emileo, who brought him immeasurable joy in his later

years.

In his retirement, Lenny sought peace in the beauty of the Tehachapi

Mountains, where he chose to be laid to rest beneath the shade of an oak

tree, a final resting place that captured his love for the land and the life he

led.

Lenny's legacy will be remembered by all who knew him for his kindness,

his spirit, and his love for his family. He leaves behind a life well-lived, with

memories that will last forever.

A private memorial service was held in Tehachapi, California, where Lenny

is now at rest.
