Lloyd Elzear Boucher, Jr.

July 17th, 1945 – May 15th, 2026

Born in Lowell Massachusetts in 1945 to parents Lloyd Boucher, Sr. and Mary Jane Boucher, he spent his childhood there moving with his family in the early 1950s to the Sunland-Tujunga area of Southern California and eventually to La Crescenta, where he would spend the rest of his life.

A graduate of Glendale High School, Lloyd excelled at making life long friends, and would frequently reminisce about his time in the Cordeliers Car Club of Tujunga.

A naturally gifted engineer, Lloyd spent 30 years working with General Telephone and Pacific Bell, helping design and build telephone systems across Southern California until retiring. He then went to work for an additional 30 years for the Los Angeles Metropolitan Transit Authority where he helped design the light rail and subway systems that thousands of commuters use every day.

He spent several years as the Commissioner of Glendale Parks and Recs and served on the Glendale Planning Commission in the 1990s. He also volunteered for many years at St. Francis High School, where he ran the snack shacks during football games.

Well liked by all who knew him, he tragically passed away on May 15th while on vacation, just a couple months shy of his 81st birthday, an event he had been looking forward to.

He is preceded in death by his wife Barbara and is survived by his sons Larry and Michael.
