Obituary of Alice Jane Davis Alice "Jane" Davis, 91, of Glendale, CA, originally from Ashland, OR, passed away at 1:45 a.m. on Sunday, May 31, of natural causes. Jane was born in Ashland, Oregon on June 21, 1921, and graduated from Ashland High School. Jane was preceded in death by her loving husband Deryl Davis. Jane held the position of legal secretary for three companies including CBS Television, from which she retired in 1984. She was able to type 125 words per minute on a manual typewriter, and came in second in an Oregon State typing and shorthand competition. She loved golfing with her husband, Deryl, taking one or two day excursions, doing crossword puzzles, and cooking for her family. Jane had a vivacious personality, quick wit, and in her younger years entertained her family by playing the piano and singing, making them laugh until they cried. Jane is survived by Gene (son) and Linda (daughter-in-law) Slade of Matlock, WA, Jan Drake (daughter) of Hornbrook, CA, Tony (son) and Ofelia (daughter-in-law) Slade of Glendale, California, six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and friends.
