Obituary of Evangeline Scarone
Please share a memory of Evangeline to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
With heavy hearts the family announces the death of Evangeline "Vangie" A. Scarone. Born in Chicago, Illinois on March 9, 1927, Vangie was one of 10 children. As a teenager she moved to Los Angeles to join some of her siblings, at which time she attended Lincoln High School for a semester. In her senior year she returned to Illinois to graduate from Inglewood High School in Chicago. Upon returning to L.A., she met her future husband, Frank, through her older sister and they were later married in 1946 and moved to Burbank.
A tremendously giving woman, she was always active with her family, church and community to which she worked endlessly. She was a member of many organizations, including the PTA, Scouts, Franciscans, Keystones, Mission Circle and the Italian Catholic Federation. She loved to travel with her husband, and cook feasts for the family. Her smile was contagious and her laughter and quick wit and personality brightened everyone's day.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank. She is survived by her three children, Frank(Judy), Ron and Teena , 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and many much- loved nieces and nephews and family members. She was looking forward to the arrival of another great-grandchild in Feb.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to Los Angeles Children's Hospital, the VA Hospital or The Epilepsy Foundation. Services and internment will be held at the San Fernando Mission Cemetery on Friday, December 6, 2013 at 10:30 a.m.
