Maria Elisa Baer
Maria Elisa Baer was born on July 4, 1929 in Yauco, a suburb of Ponce, Puerto Rico. She grew up there and then married an Air Force man who had been stationed there. She was a patient and loving mother to her three children. She also extended her love to foster kids. She later worked as a certified nursing assistant in hospitals, and was famous for using her rest breaks to give her patients back rubs and talk to them to make them feel better. She loved her work.
Maria died at home on June 21, 2012 after a long illness, during which time she continued to be her patient and loving self. The caregivers she had during this illness came to love her like a mother as well.
Maria is, and will continue to be, very much missed. She is survived by her three children and good friend, Belmont.
