Dean was the one who introduced me to the Cello. I have been playing ever since. I'm 51 years old and it has brought enjoyment to all my fellow musicians and audiences that he would never have seen.
Thank you for the gift that you gave. Rest in peace. My condolances to your family.

My parents bought a trombone for me when I was in the fifth grade at La Canada Elementary School in 1955 so that I could enter mr. Logsdon's band instrumental program. I loved playing in the band and continued my interest in music into the upper grades, deciding in high school to devote myself to a career as a professional trombonist. For over 40 years I was a free-lance trombonist in Los Angeles working in the motion picture studios and a variety of symphonic and jazz ensembles. I owe a great debt of gratitude to Mr. Logsdon for starting me on my way to a truly happy and rewarding career in music. I retired from the LA music scene in 2008 and moved to St. Louis for my daughter to attend a private school here. I continue to play for fun with community orchestras and do some other gigs now and again...still loving to play my trombone after all those years ago when Mr. Logsdon first taught me how to play the instrument. God bless him.
