I am a neighbor of John's who lives up the street. I remember I was walking to my car to go to work one morning and that is when I met John. From that day on, I was so happy to have met John. He was such a positive, cheerful, friendly, smart, kind, compassionate man. I enjoyed talking to him and seeing him every morning before I went to work. He had such a huge heart and I bet he could light up any room he walked into. I will miss him but will he will forever hold a place in my heart.

John was a dear close friend during my years in Albuquerque,NM My mother's family (Weliever) were from Darlington, and we laughed about his "jack of all trades" job at his family theater and his time at Crawfordsville HS in the band.. John's family lived just around the corner from my grandparents and we knew each other from early childhood. He was one of the most talented men I ever knew. I will cherish the memories I have of our friendship in NM. I will miss him, too My thoughts are with all of you. Jack Cunningham

The kindness, guidance, and good times that "uncle John" showed my boys and I will never be forgotten...perhaps the four of us will have a chance to play 36 again sometime in another place...goodbye good friend.

He created a foundation I am very proud to have been raised upon... it is the greatest gift I have to pass along to my own children. A foundation of true love and support, knowing that the bond of a family is stronger than any other, and the spirit to believe that anything is possible. His energy was tangible and contagious. I will forever reach for the stars with fearless courage in honor of both him and my grandma. There aren't enough thank yous and I love yous in the world to tell you how much you both mean to me. I miss you already.
