I am so sorry to hear about Ralph. Although I did not know him personally he flew with my father (Charlie Bird) in in the Pacific during WW II. Over the last few years I traded some e-mails with Ralph and Elliot Schreider who was the pilot for the U.S. Navy PB4Y-1 bomber that they all flew in. Charlie left us on March 13th after a short illness which means that Elliot is the last of the crew that flew together (he was also the oldest in the crew). I don't know if any family members would be interested but I have a few black & white pictures of the crew in the Pacific and can scan and send them to them if they like, just send a note to the e-mail listed here.
A warm salute to Ralph and best wishes to a fellow sailor for fair winds and following seas on your next journey!!
Sincerely,
Doug Bird
