Our most precious Katherine Burns 8/2/1958 – 12/25/2019. Passed away peacefully in her sleep on Christmas morning after a 4 year battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband Danny Tubbs, her siblings Margaret Bannerman, R. A. van Knapp, Robert Knapp, her step sons Michael Tubbs, Steven Tubbs, Daniel Tubbs, Noah Tubbs, Donny Tubbs, and 10 step grandchildren. Katherine attended Crescenta Valley High School class of 1976, and Cal State Northridge. She enjoyed acting and drama class. She was in many plays at the Jester Dinner Theater in Montrose in the early 80’s. She worked at CINAHL (housed at Glendale Adventist Hospital), as a managing editor for 31 years. She was a founding member of the Hearing Loss Association of America Los Angeles chapter, and served on the steering committee for years, and served as president for 3 years. In 2005 Katherine married her childhood sweetheart, Danny Tubbs. They spent the past 15 years enjoying life and love. Katherine’s beautiful spirit, and kind heart will be greatly missed. Services will be held Saturday January 11, 10:30 AM at Crippen Mortuary in La Crescenta.
