James “Jimmy” Sterling Jones “ of Sunland, California, passed away on May 8, 2021, at is home. A viewing and memorial will be held at Crippens Mortuary, 2900 Honolulu Avenue, La Crescenta, CA, with Father Jose Gonzalez, officiating. Jimmy was born on May 5, 1958, in Virginia, to Ray and Donna Jones. In his early teens, he went to work for the family construction business, where he learned everything there was to know about construction at his dad’s side. When his dad moved to Virginia and retired, Jimmy took the reins of the company, and has worked there continuously for 47 years. He took great pride in the company his father started. He loved deep sea fishing in Mexico with his close friends Frank, George, and Heney, and golfing, No one could tell (or remember) a joke better than him. He loved his kids, and his first grandson, and bragged about them to anyone who would listen. He is survived by his wife, Laurie, daughter Angie, and sons Michael and Matthew, and grandson, Cayden, a sister, Suzie, brother Ray Jr., and sister-in-law, Sharon. Jimmy will always be remembered for being a good husband and father and a generous, good-hearted man who did whatever he could to help those around him. He will be incredibly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
