Madelaine Caroline Ricci Doctors

Madelaine Caroline Ricci Doctors passed away peacefully in her home in La Crescenta, California, on September 13, 2023, one month before her 103rd birthday.

Madelaine was predeceased by her dear friend, George Wadey, of La Crescenta. She was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Jennie Ricci. She was the sister of the late Philip R. Ricci, Adam James Ricci, Edward R. Ricci, Thomas W. Ricci, John F. Ricci and Beatrice M. Ricci.

Madelaine leaves behind her great niece Sabra Ricci and Sabra’s husband, Ferenc Rez, who cared for Madelaine with devotion during Madelaine’s later years. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

Born in Beverly, Massachusetts, Madelaine moved to Los Angeles in her 20s. She embraced the Californian lifestyle of healthy eating. She was a devoted Catholic and participated in the life of Holy Redeemer | St. James the Less Parish in La Crescenta.

She retired from the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power; was an artist and gardener; and was active in many social clubs, including the Red Hat Society.

Through the years, Madelaine entertained many family members from Massachusetts and other parts of the country, sharing her love of the California sunshine with the adults and the joys of Disneyland with the children.

A Funeral Mass will take place at Immaculate Conception Parish, 489 Broadway, Everett, Massachusetts, on Monday, November 13, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery & Mausoleum, 175 Broadway, Malden, Massachusetts.

In lieu of flowers, Madelaine has requested prayers and Masses. Mass cards may be sent to Crippen Mortuary, 2900 Honolulu Avenue, La Crescenta, California, 91214.
