Obituary:
Lucille G. Lescher was born in Los Angeles, CA on June 16, 1936. She was the fourth of five children born to Theodore and Ventura G. Gaytan. She was raised in Glendale and attended Roosevelt Middle School, and graduated from Sacred Heart Los Angeles in 1955. After graduation, she attended Dental School and held simultaneous jobs working for the Capitol Theater and Pacific Bell, as well as the family restaurant La Fiesta in Glendale.
In 1958, she met and married her husband Greene G. Lescher Jr. and remained married for 50 years until "G.G" preceeded her in death in 2009. After moving to La Crescenta in the 1960's, Lucille adopted two daughters and dedicated her life to being the best wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She was an amazing cook of mexican food; her specialty was tamales. She enjoyed baking too, and often took food to the fire station when G.G. was working. She enjoyed crafts, and could crochet, decopage, and macrame beautiful masterpieces. She enjoyed Dodger games, Laker games, Dancing with the Stars, going to Laughlin to play the slot machines, and camping every year in Pismo Beach. After suffering a stroke in June, she received her Angel Wings on what would have been her mother's 101st birthday, October 12, 2012. She was beautiful, caring and loved unconditionally. An exceptional woman that will be deeply missed by all that knew her.
She is survived by her two daughters, Erika Robie and Jodi Urquidez, her Son-in-law James Urquidez, four grandchildren Dana and Dylan Robie, Jenna and Jacqueline Urquidez, as well as one brother, brother-in law, sisters-in-law, and many dear cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews and cherished friends.
A memorial mass is planned at St. James the Less in La Crescenta for Thursday, October 25, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. A celebration of life will follow at Los Gringos Locos in La Canada. A memory page is established at www.crippenmortuary.com
