I met Scott years ago in Santa Fe around Christmas time at a fundraising function. I bid on a Christmas tree and he helped me take it back to my house. He was so warm and friendly. I told him I loved his fathers books. I always remembered our meeting Xo

Scott lived in Hollywood at "mini mansions",the building I have managed for 30 years. Tenants come and go, but Scott will always be remembered . He was a very kind, sincere and loving man .
He was always willing to help, driving me to wonderful nurseries to pick up foliage for the gardens & insist on paying . He got involved in community issues and helped solve many problems in the neighborhood .
I was very happy when he met & married Patrick . Together with the boys, Oakley and Alfie and their own home , they enjoyed a beautiful life together . I wish the time together could've been longer , but the years of Scott's pain are finally now at rest .
It was a pleasure to have known Scott and my heart goes out to you Patrick with much love !!

Pat asked me to write a note. He phoned me with great courage to tell me of Scott's death. It seems like the most revolting lie that my friend is gone, a piece of my heart was ripped out, we had only spoken the previous week. Impossible to write this without tears running down my face.
I was trading in an office in LA that Scott bought in the mid 90's. Long story short I blew up my account and was broke. He backed me financially & mentored me, I had my stake back in two days and he continued to mentor me. I always thanked him as I didn't even have money left for petrol to leave LA. His reply, you were never a risk. I progressed from there, became a top trader and licensed stockbroker. He took a chance on me and he was always a great encouragement, to the point of mild bullying when he knew I could do better. How I laugh at that now.
We shared a core belief in God the creator of heaven and earth. Scott had been a pastor at one stage in his life, being a gay man, this area of him serving was taken from him and naturally it was a deep hurt.
When he was experiencing pain in his body we would pray together on the phone and he found peace. He came to visit me in Ireland with the view to setting up a hedge fund together and also to receive prayers. We had an amazing time and Scott enjoyed going to a church that didn't judge him.We had many discussions on the lies of religion and all our creator wants is to meet us where we are and to have a relationship with him.
My dear friend you are in heaven now with Jesus, I will miss you more than you know until I see you when my time is done. My heart goes out to Patrick for this immeasurable loss.
Love only, Karl.

We feel privileged to have known Scott, but only for too short a time. He impressed us with his warmth, creativity and love of life! He will be missed by all who knew him and loved him. May fond memories of him live forever in our hearts and minds.

On this long and arduous journey we call life I am truly blessed to have shared a few twists and turns with you Scott during the three decades we've known each other. I experienced some of the more challenging lessons that life has to offer with you and have learned that it requires love from a soul level to come here and challenge others during our lifetime from you! I am a better person because of you and blessed to have known you....
With love and respect....
until we meet again....

Scott,
I cannot believe yiou have left this world, it was only yesterday that we reconnected and planned on meeting to catch up. I never stopped thinking of our friendship, life happens, stuff happenes and times slips on.. but I never forgot what our friendship meant to me. You were a great friend, always there for me when I needed your company or ear. You always had the right thing to say, to get me on track and sort things out when I was in my darkest periods..I will never forget the friendship we had, you even taught me how to roast a Thanksgiving Turkey... every year, I think of you as I stuff those fresh herbs under the skin, salt and pepper, and roast that sucker at 500 degrees for the first 15 min, then dropping the temp to a low 325, roasting and basting until it was done, always taseful and so moist...that's because, you taught me to roast it that way.I envied and was so happy that you found Patrick, that you both settled in that beautful mountain resort and wanted to come visit to see you again, to catch up and pick up where we left off. I won't get that opportunity again Scott, but I will always remember you, keep you in my prayers and my thoughts. I will miss you always, you were right, I was a winer!
Patrick, my heart goes out to you and to your family, sending you my deepest most sincere sympathy, prayers and well wishes always. God bless you, God bless Scott's soul, may his memory be eternal.
Love,
Dino

I was lucky enough to meet Scott when he came to visit my husband, his longtime friend, a few years ago. Scott had long ago moved away from Oklahoma but had reconnected with Keith and was coming to visit friends and family in 2014. Scott ended up staying several days in our home. I developed an immediate connection with Scott; we had a lovely visit, shared martinis and wine, and I cooked lots of good food. Scott (who knew a few things about cooking!) gave me some tips on prepping bell peppers - in the nicest possible way!
I came to love Scott very quickly. I was so sad when he left to go back home, but I knew he missed Patrick so much and was eager to get home. I can't explain my deep love and affection for Scott. I have spent only a few days of his life with him, but he became so important in my life. I know he had suffered a lot of pain in recent years, but despite that he still had a love for life, Patrick, his family, friends, his beloved dogs and his home. I will miss him. I will miss him texting me when he thought he was texting my husband, Keith. He could never get our numbers straight!
I love you forever Scott!
