My Dad lived a great, big exciting life. Work hard and play hard seemed to be the theme!
He worked so hard in med school for so many years, and I remember one day the family
was shown this incredible house in Glendale, with a view of a million lights. This home was
now ours!
The American Dream is really true, if you are willing to work hard for it. That's what my Dad's life
was about. But he had a strong spiritual core, and attended the Methodist Church his whole life.
The Bible gave him a moral and ethical compass, to guide him through life.
I appreciate it now, having seen some of the darker sides of life, and those who are lost souls on
the sea of life.
My Dad was a real pillar in his community. A respected Doctor who saved lives by reading Cat Scans and
before that, x-rays. He gave generously, behind the scenes to many worthy charities.
On a fun note, my dad was a model ship builder, could play clarinet by ear, sang Barbershop harmonies as a perfect tenor, loved racquetball, rode a rough motorcycle, skied the summits of Colorado, screamed at USC football games, hiked the canyons of Glendale, raised a few crazy dogs and cats, read big, fat novels, listened to Sinatra, Elvis and Swing, played a great game of bridge, built model trains and loved to take his boat out to the Islands.
There is a small beach, on the beautiful island of Anacapa, where his ashes will rest.
Find your path in life and follow it boldly, that's what I learned from him.
Rest in Peace,
Love, your son, Michael
